Esquisse Three _ Function & Form


2 _ STOOL
it's applying the locking system, which I designed before. Two legs that inserted into the sitting part are not enough to make it stand alone. And the other legs are not allowed to disturb the space to sit, bounded with each other under the sitting part.







MATERIALS
2.5 mm Balsa wood
1 mm wire

PROS & CONS
-the process to assemble is pretty complicated, and the under legs that connected with locking wire have to be the center to maintain the weight and blance of the stool.
-when taking into the pieces to carry, it's really compact and simple shape. it minimalize the use of wire.

-using the tension of thin Balsa wood

The wire, which is connecting to hold the end of flexible balsa wood, is important part to maintain the balance of chair's strength

1.5 mm, 2.5 mm Balsa wood
1 mm wire

50 X 40 X 90 (mm)

PROS & CONS

-it optimizes the feature of wood, and easy to assemble. The amount of wire used is very small, but it's significant to maintain the shape of the chair.
-Sit part is relatively weak to support a person's weight when it is applied as a real product. This can be improved of adding other lack, not by only one weak lack.

Two Balsa woods, which are different size and wire


Insert the small one into the large one's cutting line


Put the hooked wire into the small one's hole


Locked with firmly holded wire

Bound two individual Balsa woods with the hooked wire


Two balsa wood, cutting shallow line & the hooked wire

Insert the head part of wire into the middle of two woods


Slide the wire to hold tight

Uncover the wire, which is fixed atthe right part, from the left part
Disassemble each parts, sliding to the oposite direction
